Boom Journal Wants to Be the Nike of the Mind

Meditation apps have seen a surge in popularity in the past two years. According to a survey by the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 has hampered mental health services in many countries because of which people’s mental health has exacerbated. People feel more anxious, depressed, and isolated.

Keeping that in mind, it only makes sense that people would turn to their phones when they can’t leave their homes. People can use dating apps when they feel lonely, they can listen to music on their phones when they’re bored, but what are they going to do when they jump into their beds at night and realize that they can’t sleep because they feel paranoid and stressed? It’s simple, they’re going to use meditation apps that are designed to help them attain a state of peace and calm.

Boom Journal is one such app that was created by Matt West and Matt Cook. Born out of the individual struggles of its two creators, Boom Journal is a mindful journaling app that uses the technology of artificial intelligence to help people become a more positive version of themselves.

Matt West is a psychologist who became a part of the mindfulness world after he was diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter disease (OSD) and was unable to play in his junior high school soccer season. He’s always had a passion of understanding people’s behavior which led to him getting two masters in psychology at the age of 24.

Realizing that his life had the potential to be so much more than what it was, he decided to make some changes. West created a morning and night routine and did some other healthy things that he thought would help him turn his life around. But it wasn’t until he started practicing mindful journaling that he began to see a positive change in his life.

All his efforts to live a healthier, more meaningful life culminated in him founding a startup called Boom. The Boom Journal app allows people to understand their thoughts and emotions better. You can record your thoughts and mood in the app and track your progress.

Boom is supposed to be an alternative to other meditation apps that we usually use. COVID-19 has made it difficult for us to sit in silence and meditate, but with the help of Boom Journal, even beginners can easily start their mindful journey. Using AI technology, the app offers personalized daily activities that will help people prevent or overcome burnout and help them develop a better understanding of themselves.

While the app is still fresh in the market, it is expected to have over a million users in over 150 countries. West’s hope with this app is to help people find meaning in their personal life and business life. It’s common to experience burnout when you’re constantly working. West experienced that, as well, but instead of giving up, he used his experiences to make his life better and now, with everything he has learned, he wants to help other people. He knows and understands that people can be so much more than who they are.

Matt West and Matt Cook both have struggled to make sense of their lives. They both understand the importance of knowing who you are. Boom Journal was created for the sole purpose of helping people feel empowered so they can become the best version of themselves.

Before West and Cook joined hands to create Boom Journal, Cook was dealing with the stress that comes with working in the modeling and film industries. Cook, just like West, is highly passionate about helping people become healthy and make positive changes in their lives. Unlike Matt West, though, Cook is more interested in the effects of nutrition on people’s mental and physical health.

In a world where depression and anxiety seem to have taken over, Boom Journal is more needed than ever. According to WHO, most people start to show signs of mental illnesses at the age of 14. It is quite an alarming situation because if these mental illnesses are left untreated, they can affect these children’s development, their performance in school, and their behavior.

A report by an app store intelligence firm called Sensor Tower said that the top 10 English-language mental wellness apps had over 2 million downloads in April of 2020. Considering that we’re not going to be able to leave our homes anytime soon, these mental wellness apps are only going to become more popular with time.

With the help of Boom Journal, you can become more productive and happier. All you have to do is write your goals in the app and what you’re going to be doing to achieve them. Once it becomes a habit, you can track your progress and start doing the things that are important to you. The app also encourages you to write about your emotions and why you’re feeling the way that you are.

Not only will this help you understand yourself better, but it will also help you become more grateful for the things that bring joy and happiness in your life. And we all could use a reminder like that during this pandemic!

We all feel tired and depressed these days because we can’t go out and see our friends and family, so it’s important that we spend some time writing about how we feel – our emotions, thoughts, goals, etc. Boom Journal will help us do that. The app isn’t meant to be a stand-alone wellness app, though, and you should pair it with your usual self-care routine and maybe a meditation app.

Boom Journal is the brainchild of psychologist Matt West and actor Matt Cook. If you’ve been affected by the pandemic and you need something to help you overcome burnout or even if you’re a beginner meditation and mindfulness practitioner and just want to understand yourself better, then you should be downloading Boom Journal! Mental illnesses are on the rise and the creators of Boom Journal understand that. They don’t want you to become a part of the statistics and that’s why they came up with this app – the Nike of the mind.
